Top 5 things to do in Autumn with the Kids
Autumn is the perfect time to get outdoors and explore what the South West has to offer. Whilst Dunsborough and surrounds is best known for its beautiful beaches and wineries; there are many other activities on offer to get the whole family out and about.
We have done the research for you, and collated our top five MUST DO activities for the kids on your next down south holiday!
1. Next Level Monkey Business
For an action packed, adrenaline-pumping day out on your next down south visit! Challenge your family and friends on the ropes course & zip-lines, or just spectate and cheer your peers on from the ground. There are courses suitable for all ages above 4 years.
2. Wow Illusions
Perfect for those cooler days, Wow Illusions is great fun for the whole family. Set aside a few hours to walk through and explore each of the weird and mind challenging rooms and puzzles, such as the Gravity Defying Room and the Mirror Maze. With a café onsite, you can grab a coffee and snack to enjoy before or after the fun. Don’t forget to visit the Margaret River Chocolate Factory on your way home, which is conveniently located just 2 kilometres up the road!
3. Ngilgi Cave
Did you know there is a cave just 10 minutes from the Dunsborough town centre? Located in Yallingup, Ngilgi Cave was Western Australia’s first tourist attraction and for good reason. Inside you can explore the chambers at your own pace on the semi-guided tour and see for yourself the decorated floors and ceilings.
You can also check out Lake Cave, Jewel Cave and Mammoth Cave, which are a picturesque 30-minute (approx.) drive down Caves Road in the Margaret River region.
4. Yallingup Maze
A trip to the Yallingup Maze is a busy day out for the family; with an ever-changing maze, puzzles and games, mini golf, a nature playground and café all in one place! Regardless of the weather conditions, there are activities here to keep you and the family busy and challenging your skills.
5. Simmos Ice Creamery and Mini Golf
If you haven’t tried Simmos ice cream yet, you are seriously missing out! Set amongst beautiful manicured landscape and with a kids playground, Simmos also offers:
- 60 delicious flavours of ice cream,
- Were recently voted one of The Top 15 Ice Creameries in the World by USA Today.
- Mini golf course
Most of these brilliant activities are located within a 20 minute drive from Dunsborough, and it’s a lovely opportunity to appreciate the stunning landscapes on the way. The vineyards and deciduous trees start to showcase glorious reds and burnt orange hues whilst the first rains start to green up the hills.
